Big hair. Big dreams.

The volume is necessary.

The subtle art of the beach wave

How to achieve it with the right tools.

These are the products I use for my hair. This combination has worked the best for me but you can always use the items you have at home as well. The one thing that is a MUST HAVE for this look is the curling wand. Hands down the best wand I have used and definitely worth every penny. Do use with caution.. it gets pretty hot!

The key is priming your hair after you shower by conditioning it & putting on some heat protectant. After that, blow drying it (especially if you use a round brush) will give you the most volume. I naturally have curly hair which means natural volume after every wash!!

So what’s the hair recipe?

Grabbing small sections of hair, you want to curl your hair loosely on the wand. Leave on the wand for about 5-8 seconds, then release and compress in your hand. Change up the direction in which you curl your hair every other section. This will provide overall texture and definition in your hair. Once you are done, apply the tacky oil listed above. This will keep your curls intact without the stiffness. Use a wide comb brush to loosen up your curls and add a minimal amount of hair oil for shine at the ends.

If you follow this method.. you should end up with something like this:

Hopefully your beach waves make an appearance this summer with lots of volume.

Thanks for reading.
